Plant Care

Watering- While not drought tolerant, Cebu's are prone to root rot and can not tolerate soggy soil. We recommend allowing your plant to dry a bit between watering and only water when the first few inches of soil are dry. A moisture meter helps to take the guess work out of watering! 

Sunlight- Cebu's make wonderful house plants as they can tolerate a variety of light conditions. In bright, indirect light the silvery leaves will be more green than silvery blue. In filtered medium light the leaves maintain their signature silvery blue color. However, while they do tolerate a variety of lighting situations, they do not do well in low light for long periods of time. 

Soil- This plant does best in a moist, well draining soil and does not tolerate soggy conditions.

Unbelievable disappointment

The main character is silly, insipid, one dimensional, and completely unbelievable. A murder victim is discovered and for some reason she immediately believes she is the most qualified person to solve the crime. The supposed professional, the local inspector, let's her walk all over him. I couldn't make myself finish it and certainly won't be reading any more in the series. As far as the audible version, the narrator needs to study American accents more, maybe actually engage in conversation with Americans before trying the accent again. The most cringe worthy narration I've ever heard.

Promising start to new mystery series.

Lady Persephone "Poppy" Proudfoot attends a house party at an estate, meets some American actors, and tries to solve the murder of a stranger to the village whose body is discovered by the lake. The first in a series, this book is a quick read with a plot that moves along, although some of the large cast of characters seem superfluous (e.g., the American visitors). Poppy is a widow, a law-school graduate (in the 1920s!), and ran a hospital for wounded soldiers during WW1, so an interesting character to read about. A promising beginning to the series and I look forward to the next book. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the eARC.
