DESCRIPTION: These will be random larger hybrids, which produce thick pink or red blooms. We will select from whatever is the most robust and in bloom at the moment. Tillandsia stricta is native to eastern South America where it can be found growing on sand, trees, rocks, and even buildings and telephone poles. Stricta is one of the more prolific air plants in the Tillandsia Genus. Often growing in large clumps, these plants are known for their beautiful neon pink bloom. The downside to their blooms is that they have a relatively short life-span: 2 to 3 weeks. The upside is that after Stricta produce their bloom, they begin the process of creating offsets, which will in turn bloom within the next year or two. The cultivar we offer here is a thick leaved variety that produces one of the largest blooms in the stricta species.
