Roots are harvested in late summer to early fall after blooming. Wash them thoroughly then dice them up to dry on screens. To prepare add 1-2 tsp to a cup of water. Bring to a boil then gently simmer for 15 minutes. This is called a decoction. Can also be used to make a tincture.
Seeds can be direct sown in early spring and covered lightly. In warmer locations, classed as a perennial. Otherwise, often a biennial. Locate in marginal areas, needs no care once planted.

Good toy for dogs
This is a great toy! I do wish the handle was a little longer because I do not have a lot of upper body strength due to health issues. I can still throw with this further than I can without the launcher so my dogs really love it and get excited any time I get this out!
