Dahlia ‘Petite Florets’

Dahlia species

Seed from this mix was collected from a very special dahlia named ‘Floret’. This mix is a soft range of pastel tones, including peach, apricot, dusty rose, lavender, sunbleached raspberry, and buttercream, all with a hauntingly beautiful iridescent wash. A large percentage of the blooms are either collaretes or anemones, many of which have snipped petal tips, long feathery ruffles, and twizzly eyelashes encircling their fuzzy centers. Every one of them is pure magic! If you discover a variety you love, tubers can be saved and planted out the following year.

To help you have more success growing these special varieties, each seed order will include a printed growing guide with step-by-step instructions.

Details:
Planting depth: ¼ in
Germination soil temp: 60°F–70°F
Days to germination: 5 to 12 days
Site: full sun
Plant spacing: 12 in
Pinch: when 12 in tall
Days to maturity: 100 to 120 days
Height: 48 to 72 in
Approximate seeds per packet: 25

How to Grow:
Sow seeds indoors in trays or pots 4 to 8 weeks before your last frost. Dahlias have a tendency to germinate sporadically, so be patient. Wait until the weather is consistently warm before transitioning young plants into the garden. Direct-seeding dahlias is not recommended.

Harvesting/Vase Life:
Dahlias don’t unfurl much once they’ve been harvested so it’s important to not pick them too early. Harvest when blooms are three-quarters of the way open, but not overly ripe. Check the back of each flower head, looking for firm and lush petals versus papery or slightly dehydrated ones. Place into water with hydrator or sear stem ends by placing into 160°F to 180°F (just off boiling) water and allow to cool for one hour. Expect a vase life of 5 days.

Works Great & Very Practical for Indoor Potty Training
Pattern Name: Detachable high wall
I really love this pee pad tray. We have a similar one from another retailer that has worked well, and I wanted a second tray for our multi-story home. My puppy had no trouble using this right away since he’s already trained to use a pad when we’re not able to take him out. The design keeps his paws dry, which I appreciate, and it even came with wee pads included. The splash guard is a nice touch for male dogs my puppy isn’t lifting his leg yet, but it will definitely be useful later on. Just a note: if your dog tends to have softer stools, cleaning the small holes in the tray might take a little extra effort. For us, that hasn’t been an issue, and the tray is easy to rinse off when needed. Overall, this is a much cleaner and more reliable option compared to indoor grass pads or loose training pads that some puppies chew up. I’m really happy with it and would recommend it.

Reliable, No‑Mess Pads That Actually Work
Size: X-Large, Style: 40 Count
I’ve tried a bunch of different puppy pads, but these Amazon Basics ones are easily the most reliable. The 5‑layer design really does make a difference—no leaking, no soggy spots, and the quick‑dry top layer keeps my puppy from tracking wet footprints around the house. They absorb way more than I expected, and the plastic backing has never let anything seep through to the floor. The size is perfect for daily training, and the pads stay flat instead of bunching up. My puppy took to them right away, and cleanup is super easy. For the price and the quality, these are honestly the best value pads I’ve found. Highly recommend for puppies, small dogs, or even senior dogs who need a little extra help.

They're okay-ish. Not suitable for a lot of liquid.
Size: Regular, Style: 100 Count
I use these for my opossums. They work okay-ish, but I continue to use them for the quantity and price. They're not very large animals. Make sure you are changing them out after a single pee. These really can not handle a lot of liquid. My girls both refused litter training, and so puppy pads are my only option. If your animal has large pees, I do not recommend these because it will not be able to absorb it all, and you're gonna have a mess! Thats the word I have been looking for. They can't absorb a large amount of liquid.
