Lightweight Pumice – Volcanic Soil Amendment for Superior Drainage & Moisture Retention
Pumice (filtered to 3/8″–1/4″) is a lightweight volcanic rock prized for its porous structure. When added to potting mixes or used as a top dressing, it enhances aeration, regulates moisture, and supports healthier root systems—perfect for cacti, succulents, bonsai, and all your favorite houseplants.
Key Features & Benefits
- Moisture Retention: Absorbs water and nutrients, then releases them gradually like tiny batteries, nourishing roots over time.
- Improved Drainage: Prevents waterlogging by allowing excess moisture to flow away quickly.
- Enhanced Aeration: Creates air pockets in soil for optimal oxygen flow and vigorous root development.
- Lightweight & Durable: Easy to handle, won’t compact or break down over time.
- Sustainable & Clean: Pre‑dried for convenience—no damp, dusty mess—and 100% natural, chemical‑free volcanic rock.
Why Use Pumice in Your Indoor Garden?
- Healthier Roots: Reduces risk of root rot with superior airflow and consistent moisture balance.
- Consistent Growth: Balances hydration levels to prevent stress from over‑ or under‑watering.
- Versatile Applications: Ideal for mixing into potting soil, top dressing, propagation medium, or bonsai substrates.
How to Incorporate Pumice
- Soil Amendment: Blend 10–30% pumice into your potting mix to improve structure and drainage.
- Top Dressing: Sprinkle 1–2 cm over soil surface to enhance evaporation control and deter pests.
- Propagation Medium: Use alone or combine with other substrates for rooting cuttings and seed starting.
