The Reaper Sbagliato Pepper is what Bob Ross would call "one of those happy little mistakes." This magnificent super hot pepper is the product of a Reaper Sbagliato Purple Peach plant (Carolina Reaper x Pimenta Puma cross) reverting back to red and is now being grown out as the red variant!

These rare pepper plants are expected to reach 4 ft. tall and produce these 2" long fiery red pods. You can still expect some variation with these peppers - our growth showed that some of the pods ripened to red but also had some tinges of purple and still showed streaks of peachy colors. But that's what you get with an unstable variety - all the more exciting to grow!

Regardless of your result, Reaper Sbagliato peppers still end up being wicked-looking super hot peppers that have an amazing fragrance and an extra fruity flavor. The heat is similar to other Reapers, which puts it around 1,500,000 SHUs, and ooze with capsaicin oil when you cut into them. Caution when handling these peppers, as the capsaicin oil can sting your eyes, nose, and your skin. Try grinding these peppers up into fruity-hot dried chili powder or pepper flakes!
