Pencil Cactus, scientifically known as Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firestick', is a striking succulent noted for its vibrant and colourful branches. This plant, also commonly called the Firestick Plant, is a variety of Euphorbia tirucalli and is renowned for its pencil-thin branches that shift in colour from green to fiery red, orange, and pink hues, especially when exposed to bright sunlight. The intense colouration makes it a favourite among gardeners and houseplant enthusiasts looking to add a pop of colour to their plant collections. Originating from semi-arid tropical regions, it is not only visually appealing but also drought-tolerant, making it ideal for xeriscaping and low-water gardens.

Pencil Cactus has milky white latex sap that is released when the plant is injured. This sap can severely irritate the skin and eyes to some. Please be very careful to not break any branches when moving this plant. Gloves and goggles are recommended when caring for them. Also, keep them out of reach from Children and Pets. See a doctor immediately when getting into the eyes.
