Water: This succulent prefers to dry out completely between waterings. Only water when the soil is fully dry throughout the pot. Overwatering can quickly harm it, especially in winter when growth slows. In low-light conditions or during cooler months, watering as infrequently as once a month is usually sufficient.

Barking sound is no longer audible. If you have a chewer... not great as it is easily broken apart. Not really worth it. At least it's cheaper on Amazon than their website.
