These are our American-made billet primary gear reduction offerings for the Rubicon 500/520 DCT and Rancher 420 DCT. Our gears are CNC machined from raw billet 4140 material, not powdered metal like the cheaper chinese brands. We designed our own proprietary sizes of 25% and 40%(43) reduction specifically for the DCT models. Model designation on frame decal must include an "A" such as TRX420FA. The 25% will drop in without case mods. The 40% requires cutting extra clearance in the front crankcase cover spacer in two small areas. The reduction changes the speed readings to the ECM so full throttle auto shifting is affected but driveability is retained. If you choose to correct full throttle auto shifting we offer ES modules that correct the speed readings. You will need one module for the Rancher 420 and two modules for the Rubicon. Modules can be found in the machine model and parts sections.
We now offer this reduction kit two ways due to it being a core type reduction. There is a "Customer Core" option ($675 for 25% or $725 for 40%) where the customer sends in their stock clutch hub (23100-HP7-A00) to be modified. MUST SEND YOUR STOCK HUB IN UPFRONT WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER. Message or call us for shipping process and address info.
The second option "New Core" ($950 for 25% or $1000 for 40%) uses a new Honda oem core. The RBM core option costs a bit more due to Honda's pricing but you will have your original core left over if you wish to return the machine back stock later. Also there is no downtime with the RBM core as you can have the complete assembled reduction in-hand before you tear your machine down.
All of our reductions carry a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. We've been making Honda reductions for over 10 years now utilizing our 20+ years of machining and metal-working experience.
