In overall excellent condition with no breaks. As you can see the very ends of the fringed skirt have faded, in an ombre effect which I quite like (and therefore decided to leave as is by way of age provenance!) There was some historic hanger fade to just one shoulder, which I have managed to carefully restore. Please see photographs I

A bit of a rarity, this original 1920s heavily fringed hand crocheted evening dress, in royal blue silky rayon yarn. 

In overall excellent condition with no breaks. As you can see the very ends of the fringed ‘skirt’ have faded, in an ombre effect which I quite like (and therefore decided to leave as is by way of age provenance!)

There was some historic hanger fade to just one shoulder, which I have managed to carefully restore. Please see photographs – I haven’t overdone it so, and there still remains some slight variation in colour, but what I have done is colourfast so can be handwashed (if you dare brave the post-wash fringe untangling!) 

It’s a fairly flexible fit due to the nature of the construction, however please see measurements. It is shown on a modern UK 8 approx, and that works well. Bear in mind no closures so slips on over the head.

It’s a stunning thing, and so of it’s era!

Bust 24” - 38”

Waist 20 - 30”

Hips 24” - 42”

underarm to cuff 7”

Length from nape to hem approx 58” laid flat, however make allowances for curves shortening it.. 54”?

The crocheted section of the body is approx 33” to shortest point from shoulder to thigh. The fringe is 25” longest point. 

Condition: 

See above. Immediately wearable with care given its age. The fringed hem is a little fluffy near the ends but I have done my best to steam and smooth. There is the odd little fluffy end from the construction, but I can’t find anything loose, or holes where they oughtn’t be!
