This vintage 1980s Mary McFadden gown features McFadden's signature Fortuny-style plissé on the bodice. Intricate beading forms an obi-belt shape at the waist, defining the waist to create a flattering hourglass effect. Additionally, the bodice is boned on the interior (beautifully constructed) to really hold you in. Pleating at the waist creates a great shape through the skirt; it's a true column shape but just ever so slightly cocoon, with a slit up the center front. The silk satin fabric has a self underlining, which keeps the shape flattering as it skims the body's curves.

NOTE: It is missing its brand tag, it only has the tag of the retailer where it was purchased: Maison Posh Locust Valley, which was a high end boutique in Locust Valley, New York (on Long Island). This boutique was known to carry high end designers, including Mary McFadden. Besides the retailer tag, you can see that the original brand tag was unfortunately cut out, which would have been the Mary McFadden tag. However, I have specifically collected Mary McFadden for years and have studied her work, so I am confident this is an original Mary McFadden. Since it is missing its tag, it is priced accordingly.

Measurements: Note that the bodice is meant to fit really snug and hold you in like a corset, especially in the chest (it's boned). This will likely work best for a X-Small and possibly Small but please refer to below measurements to be sure.

Chest: 30" laid flat, up to just shy of 32" pulled taut (see above, boning is meant to hold you in)
Waist: 26" laid flat, up to 26.5" pulled taut
Hips are open
Length: 54.25" from shoulder to hem

Great vintage condition, with minor wear commensurate with age, including some minor loss to beading (not visible unless closely inspected) and some minor scuffing to the skirt which similarly is not noticeable when worn.
