The KHAKI SHIRT L/S (MODIFY), also known as the Officer's shirt, is crafted from high-twist yarn cotton twill. The full-button front is secured with nut buttons. This silhouette is a more casual, contemporary update on vintage Officer’s shirts that is slightly shorter in overall length allowing for more versatile styling and the option to wear untucked.

Many khaki officer shirts featured epaulettes, which served to indicate rank and secure equipment such as shoulder belts. These shirts were standard issue for all Army and Air Corps personnel throughout the war. Early in the conflict, particularly in the Pacific theater, "Khakis" were used as the warm-weather field and combat uniform until they were replaced by HBT uniforms, such as the M-38 shirt.

The khaki color associated with this shirt has a history that begins with the British Indian Army of the 1800s. Similar to American soldiers fighting in the Spanish-American War, the British military was equipped with a uniform that could not withstand the sweltering climates. Sir Harry Lumsden, the founder of the Corps of Guides in India, and his subaltern William Hudson are credited with first introducing the khaki field uniform to the British Army. Lord Napier referred to the Corps of Guides as "the only properly dressed light troops in India." This initial khaki uniform was made from either twill linen or cotton in a drab brown that blended into the environment. The word "khaki" itself comes from Urdu, meaning 'dust-colored.' This khaki uniform would eventually be adopted by all regiments, either in service or summer dress.

The khaki shirts came in various shades, and this particular one is representative of those worn in the Pacific. Archival images show these shirts being worn in places like Tarawa, often paired with khaki pants such as the TROUSERS, COTTON, KHAKI, 1941.

Best electric pepper and salt grinder for a very reasonable price!I
Color: 2-Speed Rechargeable Set with Base
I've spent over $200 on salt and pepper grinders including very pricey manual ones and a name brand electric grinder which was costly and had a weak motor. I bought these expensive grinders thinking I would get a quality product by spending more money. Well, it was a waste so I decided to try this highly rated Circle Joy grinder and, so far, it works incredibly well! The high/low speed works exactly as expected and at high speed, it grinds really fast. The motor is powerful and does not feel like it's going to give up even when grinding salt or pepper at high speed and on the fine setting. It is easy to refill, holds a long charge and just simply works. Buy this. You will not be disappointed... and say goodbye to having to wash your hands everytime you flip a raw piece of meat or chicken to salt and pepper when using a two hand manual grinder.

Works well.
Color: 2-Speed Rechargeable Set with Base
Close to 5 stars. Only minor complaint is somewhat shorter battery life then expected. But since it is rechargeable, not a big deal. Like the adjustable grinder and the clear container so you can see how much it has.

Great salt and pepper set!
Color: 2-Speed Rechargeable Set with Base
Great salt and pepper set! I love that it has a light that makes it easier to see how much is coming out. Very easy to use, easy to fill, nice selection of grind sizes. It is also nice that it has a base to hold it because there is a very small amount of salt that comes off the bottom so it keeps it from going on the counter while not in use - it's not leaking, just leftover residue from the grind you have just finished.

They’re nice… if they work…
Color: 2-Speed Rechargeable Set with Base
I ordered four of these grinders and two of them broke down while a third never started up. I am honestly disappointed in the failure rate of these otherwise nice grinders. If only one grinder in a two-pack failed, I would’ve just taken it on the chin and moved on. But three out of four total is unacceptable. I like the way they look, and the grind speed and settings are nice. But there’s a serious durability problem they need to fix.
