AQUACEL Silver (Ag) Dressing is a sterile, white, fibrous dressing derived from 100% pure sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC). AQUACEL dressing is soft, nonwoven, conformable and highly absorbent. Dry AQUACEL Ag fibers gel on contact with the wound fluid. As fibers swell, they wick wound exudate, including bacteria, away from the wound.
The ionic silver within AQUACEL Ag provides an immediate and sustained antimicrobial activity to kill a broad spectrum of wound pathogens. The silver ions are evenly distributed throughout the dressing making them readily available throughout the wear time of the dressing.
The strengthening fibers in Aquacel Ag (Silver) - .39" x 18" (1 cm x 45 cm) Ribbon Dressing with Strengthening Fiber are composed of a Hydrofiber-base material.
