  • Grown, packaged and shipped exclusively by Wekiva Foliage. This zebra houseplant is known for its large shiny leaves and dark green foliage deeply veined in white or yellow, reminiscent of zebra stripes, hence the common name. Their brightly colored flowers and bracts make for a prized display.
  • Because they are tropical, Aphelandra zebra plants prefer warm climates and will do well in average household temperatures around 70°F. (20°C.) and around 60°F. (15°C.) at night if they are kept out of drafts.
  • They do need high humidity and setting their pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water or regular misting should be an integral part of how to care for a zebra plant. They may thrive in 40-80 percent humidity, but they don’t like wet feet.
  • This tropical house plant combines striking foliage and interesting flowers. Its long, elliptical leaves are eight to 12 inches long. The glossy leaves are striped with broad white streaks with just a thin band of green around the leaf edge.
  • A cone-shaped flower spike rises from the center of the plant in spring and carries a long-lasting, showy yellow bract that encases tubular flowers.
