Note: JPTR FX pedals are from Wilhelmshaven Germany, and feature a gnarly modern industrial design with some actual scratches, scrapes, and scuffs, for that recycled metal look and feel. Hence their phrase... UGLIEST SOUND DEVICES!

Iconic sounds are often a product of struggle and compromise. They are unmistakable, genuine, and have the potential to leave a mark on society forever. They are bold, out of place, and larger than life. They fight back, claim their prize, but never abandon their humble beginnings. They are the Silvermachine... dual gain stage fuzz!

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Dual Gain Stage Fuzz - from low-gain sizzle, to beefy Bender tones, and all the way to screaming octa-fuzz sounds.
  • Two Gain Knobs - acts as two highly interactive gain filters for endless fuzzy combinations.
  • Master Volume - we all know louder is better!
  • Eye-catching Vintage Enclosure

The Silvermachine is a new interpretation of a time-tested attitude. Featuring two gain stages in a parallel circuit, competing for an unrefined and unbuffered vintage fuzz conquest. With one shared master volume to keep it simple but never stupid, the Silvermachine's gain knobs act as a filter, delivering tones that range from sizzling drives to rich, dynamic fuzz.

Pushing the gain stages even further brings out the upper octave, instantly reminiscent of the wild Woodstock days, with a twist of Beatnik club nights and Lo-Fi Psychedelic Garage seances. The Silvermachine retells Fuzz history in a modern iteration. Its versatility carries tones between Benders and Faces, but infinitely less compressed, and deliberately open in character. Its humble looks may be deceiving... for this spacecraft can take you anywhere... past, present, and future alike!

Great little radio, it was.
Great value for the price. I have received excellent audio reports on a couple repeaters I have tested on so far, on the first day with the radio. Love how you can customize all the display background and text colors. Tempature sensing fan works properly. Unfortunately, they do not send a programming cable with this radio, very annoying! It will not save offset and t-ctcs tone into memory mode when programming by hand, which is unfortunate because it is easier to program by hand than some other cheap radios, like the Baofeng keypad. I really wanted to upload all my channels via Chirp, and to make sure Chirp is actually supported before posting review, but it is what it is, and now I have to find a proper programming cable, then hope I did not pick one that does not work. Other than this very disappointing fact, this radio is well worth the money and I highly recommend if you are on a budget or just getting into the hobby. I have mainly been working HF since getting my General ticket and have made contact all over the world, so you can rest assured this review is by someone who knows what they are talking about. Grab one while you can, you will not be disappointed, except for them not including a programming cable! Edit: Have to return, squelch not working on second day. Right in the middle of a net, had to use monitor button to finish my contact. Turn monitor off and the receiver will not open squelch, which is set to 1. Can set squelch to 0 and receive but anyone who runs VHF/UHF knows that, unlike HF, an open squelch is just too noisy. Spent hours trying to fix, no joy! 73, Stephen

Compact, loud, controls similar to Baofeng handheld, knobs aren't that great.
My first mobile rig, and currently the one I'm still using. I don't' use it too heavy, but I've had it for about 3 years and it's worked great. I've used it on many different applications Pros: Compact size, good display, small fan on the rear to help keep the unit cool. The controls are very similar to a Baofeng handheld radio so great for beginners who likely started out with that brand. Compatible with GMRS, FRS, other "out of band" frequencies (mine was from the box, I can't guarantee the same with a newer model though). Do this at your own "risk," you are an adult and can make your own choices :) Cons: Fan is a bit loud if that's something that bothers you during a long QSO. Repeater tail squelch is loud at times. But the biggest con by far is the knobs are garbage. They are rubber, and you will most certainly have one fall of at some point and loose it. I purchased some small guitar amp knobs and replaced the (now both lost) factory knobs. If the knobs were metal or fixed to the device I would give 5 stars.

junk
radio runs hot even when not transmitting. programming cable does not work with win 11. it does work with chirp once you find a 10 year old pc to program it. programming from the front panel seems impossible. knobs are made of rubber and keep falling off. i am sure i will find more once i use it for a while if it lasts. Update: I was able to trudge through the manual and make the changes i needed from the front panel, took a while with the darn buttons falling off. Manual is not good but with some patience you can work through it. If you need a tiny radio and your budget allows i would look at the anytone 778.

good radio for the money
THE GOOD.. These are very good radios for the money, we currently have 6 of these the oldest is probably 3 years old, we can mounter all local emergency services, easily get into all of our local ham 2 meter and 70 cm repeaters. It IS NOT part 95 compliant by the FCC which means it IS NOT LEGAL for GMRS use, but it can broadcast and receive on all FRS, MURS and GMRS frequency's, use at your own risk on these frequency's. One of these radio's are in a ranch jeep it is our oldest radio, this thing has lived in hot dusty environment, been soaked with water and mud and has held up great. Easy to program with CHIRP. THE BAD.. They claim the they are 25 watt VHF 20 watt UHF, The ones we have only put out 18-19 watts, which is plenty of power for most repeater operation. The data port and speaker port are side by side on the back if you have your radio mounted to were you cant see the rear and put the programing cable into the speaker port it WILL blow your speaker.
