"When I reestablished a relationship with Dann to bring out the Dann Huff Yellow Classic, I asked him what could I do for him to thank him and he said, "I don't know, build me a guitar." So I told him about Jim's main seller, the Studio Elite HD and threw out there that if he wanted a cool Tyler finish that he might like the White Shmear and he loved it. So back in 2022, I sent him the guitar and he dug it but did not think he would use it as much as his other Tylers and other guitars so he sent it to Colorado where he has a small studio for recording when he is there visiting family.
After this, he started working on a solo record. He recorded much of it in Colorado and that is the only guitar he had in Colorado. He fell completely in love with the guitar. He was digging it a lot. During that time I learned of one of his secret weapons. The bridge pickup in parallel. I was trying to figure out how to get that guitar back from Colorado to add that and neck+bridge to it.
As he fell in love with the guitar he had a dilemma, he really wanted to use it in Nashville too and thought, if I send the guitar to Nashville, what do I send to use in Colorado, some second rate guitar?
I said, hey, let's do a Dann Huff Studio Elite HD and make the below guitar the model but with the added buttons for series/parallel for the bridge and the neck+bridge buttons and he said, perfect. Then I showed him gold hardware, just in case because it looks great with White Shmear and he loved it and then I showed him the faux matching headstock and he loved that too. So the Dann Huff Studio Elite HD was born."
