Monstera deliciosa ‘Tauerii’ is a compact form of the classic Swiss Cheese Plant, prized for its tidy growth habit and earlier leaf fenestrations. While the standard Monstera can grow very large, ‘Tauerii’ remains naturally smaller and denser, making it ideal for modern homes, smaller rooms or anyone wanting the Monstera look without the sprawling size.
This cultivar develops its characteristic splits and holes at a younger age, producing mature foliage sooner and maintaining a fuller, bushier shape. The leaves tend to sit closer together on the stem, giving the plant a more architectural, upright appearance compared to regular Monstera deliciosa.
Native to the tropical rainforests of Central America, Monsteras are climbing aroids that produce aerial roots to anchor themselves to trees in the wild. In your home, ‘Tauerii’ thrives in bright, indirect light but will tolerate moderate shade. Water thoroughly and re-water when the top inch of soil has dried out. Provide warmth and regular misting to encourage lush growth and stronger fenestrations.
Why choose Monstera deliciosa ‘Tauerii’?
- Compact, space-saving growth habit ideal for smaller homes
- Produces fenestrated leaves earlier than the standard Monstera
- Denser, more upright shape with closer leaf spacing
- Provides the full tropical Swiss Cheese Plant look in a manageable size
- Excellent statement plant without the need for large floor space
