Inspired by it, the Ibanez TS9 “LDO” Overdrive by Tube Screamer Mods gives us mere mortals the timeless and familiar Tube Screamer green finish, heavenly tone, and 3-position switch. Don’t be fooled as this is the baddest cat in the Tube Screamer realm. Each of the three switch positions is a favorite, like having three beautiful girlfriends each loving you in their own special way.
From the Landgraff referenced circuit specifications and the coveted JRC4558 opamp chip, the TS9 LDO Overdrive gives you full and juicy overdrive. The 3-position toggle switch gives you different clipping diode choices:
• With the switch in up position, it has the treble boost like grit of a Vox AC30 Top Boost.
• In the middle position, the high gain and boosted lows of a vintage Marshall Plexi.
• In the down position, the throaty growl of a blackface Fender Bassman.
