Per Vemuram -
The “Butter Machine” was developed in collaboration with Michael Landau to create his ideal distortion pedal. We have made countless prototypes, which took more than 2 years in R&D. Having Michael use the prototypes at his sessions and on tour, we were able to hear his direct feedback and aim straight for his ideal driven tone. In addition, new ideas were implemented, and various improvements were made by testing the prototypes at his recording sessions and at his home studio in Los Angeles as well. As a result, we were able to create a “new type" of distortion pedal that is user-friendly and wide in range. It allows you to control your picking nuance and dynamics, and the drive goes from overdrive to full-on distortion effortlessly. Please enjoy the "Butter Machine”.
【The story behind the Butter Machine by Michael Landau】
"I’ve been using Vemuram pedals for over 10 years starting with the Jan Ray Overdrive.
And over the years, Daiya and Shingo have become good friends during my many tours in Japan.
The Vemuram pedals have always been in a class of their own in my opinion. All of their pedals have that big, bold Vemuram sound. And the company has the highest level of integrity regarding the way the pedals are designed and built.
In the past I’ve used an Ibanez SD9 as my high gain pedal, it was my main distortion pedal for many years, but I’ve always had a bit of a love-hate relationship with the pedal. It can be shrill and overly compressed if it’s not dialed in just right…
So a couple of years ago I asked Daiya if he could design a distortion pedal that had the positive sonic qualities of the SD9, but without the overly compressed, high-end harshness. Daiya and I have spent many months listening to several prototypes that he designed, experimenting with them and making improvements.
We used the SD9 as a starting point but of course this new Vemuram distortion pedal is a higher grade unit with many improvements. Besides the Gain, Volume and Tone knobs, there are two trim pots that let you fine tune this pedal in a unique way. The “Sparkle” trim pot is a ‘Peaking’ type of boost centered around 6K that allows you to dial in the ‘Crunch’ of the high end. The “Low-Mid” trim pot allows you to add the perfect amount of bottom end. I used one of the prototypes on tour in 2022 and 2023, and also in the studio many times over the last year. In other words, this pedal has definitely been real time tested.
The final version of this new Vemuram distortion pedal has a perfectly open, natural feeling overdrive. It has gain and sustain for days… yet it stays clear, punchy and solid when you roll the volume back on your guitar. It’s very easy to dial in the perfect amount of overdrive with this pedal while keeping all of the musicality intact.
Vemuram has designed the best distortion pedal that I have ever played through. We named it the “Butter Machine”, and if you play through one you’ll know why. It’s a very satisfying sonic experience.

Squeakerless
It is very life like. Held up well but is starting to show some wear after 6 months. I attempting to repair a couple of holes that have shown up. The sqeakerless is nice but would love a noiseless squeaker. I would give 5 stars if I can patch the holes.

Almost 2 years now! Super strong and the puppers loves it. NO SQUEAKER!!!! YAY
Nov 2022 marks 2 years it's now near Oct 2022 unless this thing completely falls apart in the next month it's gonna easily make 2 years. I honestly see this going 3-4 years. There is little damage still. Just a tear near the ear that isn't spreading and the tail is still showing the tiny amount of white. This thing is a beast!

1 year and 2 months on (last three pics are of it currently) and it's still holding up nearly perfectly. Bought this in Nov of 2020 Jan 2022 it's still around while all other toys are destroyed. This is completely worth every single penny.
6 month update: See pictures for the only damage to the toy so far. Note the tail is the place my girl tends to offer me to grab. She also gnaws on that area and the ears. The one ear has fur missing now. Eyes are still good to go as they are stitched rather than separate plastic eyes. However for 6 months of dog abuse, I'd say the toy is holding up quite well. I feel I'll get close to a year out of it maybe a bit more or less.
The pupper girl always destroys her toys. This one has lasted quite a while compared to the others. I don't see this falling apart for a while. I believe we may get a year or more out of it. Well worth the price!

not for aggresive chewers
This premium priced toy did not last 15 minutes with my 14 month old 34 poundf Labradoodle. I had great expectations based on the description but the very cute squirrel toy did not last, First hole was through one of the eyes and the internal stuffing was then spread everywhere.

Perfect for a hound puppy
I have a difficult time finding plush toys that won’t immediately fall apart AND doesn’t have any secret squeakers. It’s bigger than I expected, his long hound mouth can barely fit the body inside - and it is very thick that it satiates the bite and catch component. He absolutely loves it, he will bounce it, chase after it and then pass out for a nap once he is done. He knows the toy by name and brings a lot of joy.. Highly recommend.
