Alexander Pedals Radical Delay DX Delay Pedal

Alexander released the first Radical Delay pedal way back in 2015 as an homage to the tones and aesthetic of the 1980s. They were shooting for video games, neon nights, and maybe a hint of ALF.

It’s now several years later, and according to conventional wisdom they should be fighting with replicants in the streets and competing in futuristic running-based game shows.

Since that stuff hasn’t quite happened yet, they thought it might be time to update the Radical Delay to their Neo Series platform and give it a bit of a makeover at the same time.

Inside you’ll find the same great delay and special effects that made the earlier Radical Delay pedals so fun, plus a few new twists. Outside, they’ve added some teal and chrome, and intensified the laser grid for your enjoyment.

Radical Delay DX features six delay modes, all of which are adjustable to play from 24kHz down to 1.6kHz bandwidth using the CLOCK knob.

The maximum delay time varies by mode and clock rate, but it varies from 680ms to over 5000ms. Yep, that’s over 5 seconds of delay time, but it sounds terrible. It’s gross. Don’t say they didn’t warn you.

DELAY MODES:

• MOD - Digital delay with modulation. Tweak controls the mod depth and ALT controls the mod rate.
• BEND - Pitch shifted delay. Tweak selects the interval (-12, -7, -2, -1, detune, +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, +7, +12) and ALT puts the shift before or after the delay.
• DUAL - Dual-tap delay line. Tweak controls the delay time for the second tap and ALT controls its feedback.
• REV - YALED ESREVER. Tweak warps the delay from forward to reverse, with “tape stop” sounds available in between. ALT mixes between the main reverse delay and a forward delay. Just want reverse? Set Mix, ALT, and Tweak to maximum.
• ARP - Chiptune arpeggiator delay. Tweak controls the speed of the arpeggiation and ALT selects from 8 scale options.
• DYNA - Dynamic delay. The delay time sweeps with your picking attack. Tweak controls the sweep amount and direction, and ALT sets the volume sensitivity. Be careful with short delay times - that’s where the laser birds live.

Features:

• PRESETS: Four built-in presets give you quadruple the tones in a single footprint. Add a MIDI controller for 16 presets.
• NEO MORPH: Seamlessly morph between different knob settings on the fly using the Option footswitch, expression pedal, Neo Footswitch, or MIDI controller.
• MULTIJACK: Connect an expression pedal, Neo Footswitch, or MIDI controller to this jack to add performance control to your pedal.
• OPTION FOOTSWITCH: Tap the left footswitch for tap tempo. Hold the left footswitch for Tap Tempo Subdivision or Ramp Morph.
• AUTO TRAILS: Set the pedal trails from 0-10 seconds. The pedal will automatically perform a smooth fade at your chosen time.
• CLOCK KNOB: Adjusts the operating frequency of the DSP in real-time. Turn this up for pristine digital delay, down for glitched-out garbage.
• MIDI CONTROL: Every knob and setting on the pedal is controllable using MIDI. Connect using the MultiJack and ourAlexander's Neo Link or directly to any Disaster Area Gen3 controller.
• SELECT BUTTON: Tap this button to select a new sound mode. Hold it down to access the alternate knob functions (listed in parentheses).
• USB PORT: Every Neo Series pedal features a USB port for MIDI control and firmware update
• Mono input
• Dual output (mix signal on tip, dry signal on ring)
• Input Impedance: 1M ohms
• Output Impedance: 560 ohms
• DC 9V only, 100mA or greater
• Requires isolated DC power supply
• 4.7” x 2.6” x 1.5” H x W x D not including knobs
• Six delay modes
• Four presets, expandable to 16 with a MIDI controller
• MultiJack enables expression pedal, foot switch, or MIDI input
• Neo Morph allows controlling all knobs from expression or MIDI
• Tap Tempo with quarter, dotted eighth, eighth note divisions
• Hold Option switch to cycle delay sub

Simple, hefty configurable small tray
Color: Black, Color: Black
"Hefty" is not an expected description for a drawer organizer. But it is in this case because of the solid metal plate it's made from. You could brain a zombie with this tray and not dent it (the tray... the zombie's the one that would be dented). Guess the material choice does make sense since the two wooden dividers uses magnets to hold positions. A strong bump would be needed to shift the placed dividers. You get some basic configuration choices from the dividers. Including additional (different length) dividers would allow further sectioning options would have been nice. It also looks good too. Like the design and utility. Would also go for a bigger version. Perhaps that one, like this, would have secondary uses... perhaps as armor plating?

Elegant and easy to customize to organize your desk
Color: Black, Color: Black
This desk organizer was higher quality and more elegant looking than I thought it would be, so I decided to use it to hold some things on my dresser. It’s too pretty to hide away in my drawer. The compartments snap into place with magents so you can adjust based on how you want to organize your items. The tray itself is heavy, durable, and well-made. The compartments and edges seem to be authentic wood, and the base surface of the tray is a rubber-like surface that keeps things from slipping while still looking very nice. I like this tray enough to put it on display as a part of my home decor. It’s not only useful for organizing some odds and ends, but is also very beautiful and well made.

Stylish Aesthetic with Functional Limitations
Color: Black
This desk organizer offers a sophisticated look that complements modern furniture and decor quite well. The combination of aluminum and walnut creates a professional appearance that effectively tidies up a workspace or nightstand. I particularly appreciate the soft-touch base, which provides a safe surface for delicate items like phone screens or watches, ensuring they remain free of scratches. Additionally, the materials are very easy to wipe down and maintain. However, the build quality does not entirely justify the premium price point. The aluminum components feel more like thin, shaped sheet metal rather than a solid, high-end material. While the walnut accents are a nice touch, they lack the weight and substance I expected for a valet tray in this category. The primary functional drawback lies in the magnetic adjustment system. The magnets are relatively weak, meaning that accidentally bumping a divider while reaching for an item can easily shift the layout. This requires frequent readjustments, which can be frustrating during a busy workday. Furthermore, the magnetic rails can interfere with other metallic or magnetic objects you might try to store. If you are looking for a purely aesthetic upgrade to organize lightweight items, this tray serves that purpose, but it falls short in terms of stability and material density.

Love the customizable dividers
Color: Black, Color: Black
I really like this desk drawer organizer tray. It comes with two removable adjustable dividers that are magnetic. They have a strong magnetic pull and stay in place and do not move or shift at all. I love the overall look of it. It’s very sophisticated looking. It can be suitable for a man or a woman. If it’s into my drawer perfectly and I love the smooth modern design of it.

A nice customizable organizer.
Color: Black, Color: Black
This is a nice organizer for a drawer or nightstand. Comes in a box that is not overly bulky and is well protected. It's quick and easy to adjust and put together. the seperators are magnetic so you can customize it to fit your needs. There are two cut outs for charging cords and it fits a phone easily along with other accessories. The unit feels solid and well built, it has a good weight to it. I do wish the deviders were a bit easier to get square, but that's more just my idiosyncrasies.
