Main Characteristics of the Variety:- Chinese wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) is a large vine in the genus Wisteria of the Fabaceae family. Its stem is left-handed and climbing, with papery leaflets that are ovate-elliptical to ovate, and small stipules that are spiny; the pedicels are slender, the corolla is lavender, and the seeds are lustrous brown, oblate in shape. The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is from May to August. It has strong adaptability and prefers a sunny, well-ventilated environment. It is relatively cold-hardy and shade-tolerant, with some tolerance to waterlogging and barren soil, but it grows best in well-drained, fertile, loose soils in sunny, wind-sheltered locations. When planting, provide walls, trellises, or other supports to accommodate its climbing habit. It grows rapidly and has a long lifespan. Spring and autumn are the best planting seasons, but note that 2–3 years of care are needed before it reaches full bloom. Wisteria not only has high ornamental value—ideal for creating flower arches or vertical gardens—but also offers medicinal benefits, making it a versatile choice for both beauty and utility.
