This Midnight Marvel hardy hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos 'Midnight Marvel') produces huge, pure red blooms that absolutely glow against the richest purple foliage in the genus. These large flowers, around 8–9 inches in diameter, appear for a long period from midsummer into early fall. The plant grows to a compact size of about 4 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide, making it a perfect front-of-border perennial that doesn’t need to be relegated to the back like other hibiscus varieties.

Colorful Foliage & Wildlife Attraction
This hibiscus is known for its deep wine-purple foliage, which provides a striking contrast to the vibrant red flowers. The foliage color becomes most intense when planted in the full sun, making it an absolute showstopper in the garden. The flowers also attract butterflies but are deer resistant.
