This is not your average orchid—Grammatophyllum Broga Tiger 'Beverly' is a bold, architectural statement piece. These are large, well-established plants that put on a dazzling show of fragrant flowers each summer. When in bloom, expect towering flower spikes that can reach 3–4 feet tall, covered in dozens of chartreuse-green blossoms with deep burgundy markings. Blooms can last up to 3 months, and the ‘Beverly’ clone is particularly prized for its vibrant contrast and vivid coloration.
These orchids thrive in bright light and warm conditions, much like they would high up in the tropical canopy. If you’re growing them outdoors (especially in places like South Florida), they’ll do best with dappled sunlight—though with careful acclimation, they can handle nearly full sun. Indoors, a very bright southern or western exposure is key.
Grammatophyllum are fast growers with vigorous root systems—don’t be surprised if you see roots climbing out of the pot or into the air. It’s part of their natural strategy to anchor themselves in trees and catch falling leaf litter. We’ve recently upgraded these to roomy 10" pots to give them plenty of space for the next growth cycle.
Water generously, especially when the plant is in active growth or spike—these are thirsty orchids during the warm season. However, keep in mind: without very bright light, this is a tough one to get to re-bloom. If you can give it what it wants, though, the payoff is spectacular.
