Our childhood was meant to be a grand adventure, and the Big Foot 12 is a clear statement of intent. It is designed for those who are committed to ensuring their children are more connected to the environment around us than to a device.

It's an important battle that we want to win early. The low frame with a saddle height of just 31 cm gives you the necessary starting advantage. A sturdy diamond frame and forged dropouts mean you won't have to worry about the bike becoming out of commission. The elements won't be a problem either, as all of our bearings are maintenance-free sealed ball bearings, and our frame, fork, hubs, rims, headset, stem and handlebars are all made from aluminum. In fact, aside from the hardware, the only steel on the bikes is the hardened spoke material - a whopping 20 of them on each wheel to ensure they don't bend at the sight of a curb, a root or even the dad.

But it's really about feeling as confident on the trails as you do on the pavement. That's why we added 2.25" balloon tires that absorb every impact, with profiled treads whose sidewalls come alive in mud and loose surfaces to ensure the traction that keeps your kids on track. Not forgetting the anatomically designed ones Ritchey controls with a powerful, easy-to-use rear brake to give extra braking confidence when the ground underfoot looks a little unsafe for those little rubber soles.
