The Kaluna II from Valbruch Effects is a classic tube-driven distortion package for players who want a detailed wide range of tones that color their sound without getting too messy. A classic drive and volume knobs allow you to dial in tones ranging from a soft, colored boost to a creamy distortion that never gets in the way of your amp's character. The clarity on this pedal is unparalleled yet it retains a wonderful warm drive to your sound at any level. A three band EQ allows for more tone specification and is very gentle in its coloration, never getting too harsh in the lows or highs. The mid knob really shines here giving a great honk when pushed or a great rhythm sound to sit back in the mix when pulled back. The Structure control at the top switches between three gain circuits, a classic, high, and low gain all previously found in the first three versions of this pedal, now in one. Powered by a single 12AX7 tube, this pedal drives in such a clear, detail-oriented way which is never lost even in its highest gain situations.
